Social Worker

Mother's Home NGO is seeking a social worker to support women and children facing difficult life circumstances. The position follows a rotating schedule with 24-hour shifts.

Mother's Home NGO is seeking a social worker to join our team on a 24-hour rotating shift schedule, supporting women and children facing difficult life circumstances.

We are looking for a responsible and empathetic person with relevant education or experience in the social services sector who is ready to work a rotating schedule and support women and children during an important period in their lives.

Working conditions

  • Location: Pecherskyi District, Kyiv.
  • Schedule: rotating 24-hour shifts.
  • Work arrangement: direct, on-site support for women and children living at the center.

Your responsibilities

  • Assessing the needs of women and children and providing social support during each shift.
  • Helping women develop parenting and childcare skills.
  • Supporting women in planning household routines and daily life.
  • Ensuring that residents comply with the center’s rules.
  • Providing guidance on rights and available opportunities.
  • Coordinating with health care and social service institutions when needed.
  • Maintaining documentation in accordance with state social work standards.

Our approach

The primary focus of our work is developing each woman's independence.

The social worker teaches, explains, demonstrates, guides, and monitors progress but does not perform everyday tasks on behalf of the woman.

Requirements

  • A degree or other higher education qualification in social work, psychology, or education.
  • Alternatively, at least two years of experience working with people or in the social services sector.
  • Readiness to work a rotating schedule with 24-hour shifts.
  • Emotional stability, resilience under stress, and the ability to maintain professional boundaries.
  • Responsibility and adherence to professional social work ethics.
